Linguistics I find language one of the most fascinating things in this world. It makes me lose my mind we could create something so complex and learn it so efficiently and quickly and how we use it everyday without a second thought and the way it changes and evolves aaahhhh!!!! I love it!!!!! And part of my love for linguistics goes to conlangs (constructed languages). If you're unfamiliar with conlangs, think of the fantasy languages made for Game of Trones and James Cameron's Avatar, for example. They are languages deliberately constructed by a person (or people) with some goal in mind. My favorite is toki pona, which is a conlang based on the principle of minimalism and making your life simpler, the whole language only contains about 130~ words. I know some of it, but still in the process of learning. Toki a!

Aquascaping

Aquascaping is essentially gardening underwater. It's all about organizing aquatic plants and rocks and wood and decorations inside of an aquarium. And God do I love this strange little hobby! I'm looking forward to start my own aquascaping project.. And it's not just aquariums I like, but I also love all the other -ariums. Terrariums, vivariums, paludariums, ripariums, they're all so wonderful and I adore the prospect of keeping a little ecosystem in a container. I love forests and wetlands and ecosystems generally, big fan of Plant

Congenital malformations

Now into the weird stuff. Congenital malformations (or anomalies), but commonly reffered to as birth defects are any deleterious malformations that occur to the embryo/fetus in the womb. Which also ties in another smaller interest of mine, embryology! The study of the formation and development of an embryo and fetus. I also like disorders and syndromes generally, anything medical.
Favorite(s): Ulnar Dimelia (mirror hand syndrome) and Ehler-Danlos Syndrome

Lighthouses

Lighthouses are plastered all over this website, so you probably already noticed that I really like them. They're navigational devices, big structures with flashing lamps at the top to alert ships and boats about dangerous areas. But the sad thing is that they've been largely phazed out and forgotten. Almost all lighthouses are now automated, when in the past they were lived in and served as houses for the lighthouse keepers which were tasked with repairing and taking care of the lighthouse. Which is so, so sad! My actual dream job is being a lighthouse keeper, honestly. But it's just not feasible, not anymore. They're now just a relic of a less automated past. They're like angels to me
Favorite(s): Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

Speculative biology

Speculative biology, also called speculative evolution or speculative zoology is all about speculating about how species might evolve in certain conditions like different planets or an altered Earth. The fun of it is figuring out how animals and plantlife would evolve and work in alien environments and it's so, so COOL. I love biology in general, and this is like mixing biology with worldbuilding (which too, is somthing I love).

Radiation

This is definitely the oldest interest of mine in this list, I was already pretty obsessed with it at the age of 8. I'm mostly interested in the effects of radiation poisoning and incidents at nuclear facilities, aswell as criticality. I would like to talk about it more in-depth sometime.. I'm also really interested in the case of Hisashi Ouchi and the cesium-137 accident

Dragons

Do I even have to explain why dragons are cool as fuck. u know it

Other things I enjoy but that I'm not sure deserve an entire section

Rubix cubes, fragrances, chess, pyramid schemes, cults, cryptozoology, unexplained phenomena, religion (specially Christianity), headphones, iPods, mass hysteria, cannibalism, lobotomies, rabies, ebola, rain, gardening, dinosaurs and other prehistoric/extinct animals, clocks, robotics, The Rock-afire Explosion (and pneumatic animatronics generally), astronomy, etcetera
