The question that plagues all of you... Or maybe not. Who knows.
Well lets start from the beginning!

I remember around 2020 with the surging popularity of tiktok, I started disliking social media, it started to feel alien to me. Those feelings only grew, and in 2021 I would take frequent breaks from the internet. But why? Social media had gotten too fast, too easily digestible, too addictive. I would get stuck in loops of endless content with no value and before I knew it, hours had passed by and I had completely wasted my day. I started to think more about the current state of the web, and I started to realize just how much it fucking sucked overral- Everything is centralized into just a few websites that can often be absolute cesspools, personalization is minimal, you're encouraged to dissect yourself out in the open and share every bit of information about you instead of staying anonymous, but at the same time you're encouraged to make everything small and bite-sized. Tiktoks, reels, YouTube shorts, they're the result of one thing: Corporatins wanting money. Wanting to find the best way to steal your attention and your time.

And what I wanted to do, was distance myself from that as much as I could. I was so incredibly dissapointed in what people have done to the internet, and so now I wanted to carve out my own place, inspired by the web before it turned into what it is now.

That is what inspired me to look into personal websites and find Neocities in 2022. I made a website, but it didn't really have any value to it, honestly. Nothing anyone would actually be interested in other than pretty colors and gifs. And that's what leads into THIS website, an actual true attempt at making... Something. Something worth your time, but most importantly somewhere for me to write about what I love and what I feel, a true altar for everything that makes me William.
But... I feel it's important to say, this is for fun. I don't think this is a huge statement, I just find HTML/CSS to be fun and a hobby that I cherish. The 'old web' was absolutely not perfect, it was messy and just as terrible as it is now sometimes, and I feel we should remember that it's ok to admit we only do certain things because it's cozy and nostalgic. I'm just having fun, and you should too.

OK thatse all . ur a blessed soul for reading that whole thing
