As a little kid, I loved collecting. And more than I loved collecting, I loved themed dolls like Monster High. I loved to buy every toy in a line that I could get my hands on and then display all of them neatly ! And one time in a toy store I found these cute little toys called The Zelfs and I immediately begged my mom to buy me some. I don't quite remember how many I had or which ones? I vaguely remember having Spellinda, and I definitely had Howlette. They were all from series 1, for sure. I've since lost all of them since I was preeetty tiny when this was going on and they probably got lost while I was moving.
Then I just forgot about them for a couple years. Then I started to randomly remember their existence and try to find the doll's name, find it, forget it, and then remember again a couple of months later. Very strange little cycle. But! A few months ago I broke it and got weirdly infatuated with the little things. Just started to research everything about them, and ended up getting hyperfixated oops.

Recently I bought my own zelfs after a while of searching! Currently I have a kitsu (named Mei Mei), a large catsby (named Juda), a birchy (named Cedar), and a flitter (named Pipi). I love them all dearly



You might notice I customized them a little! Particularly in the case of Mei Mei. When I first got her she wouldn't stand up right so I made her a little cardboard wheelchair, and things snowballed from there... I painted her with many little embelishments and made her hair into a heart! Juda got cute eyebrows and a cross necklace, and Pipi got some details that I didn't like sanded off. Cedar has no alterations though, sorry Cedar.

My most "ambitious" zelf project was making a little bedroom for Mei Mei! The plan is to make a bedroom for every one of them, but I haven't got around to doing the other 3... That's why one of the walls is missing, so it can connect with Juda's room in the future.
